STIHL is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing specifications and mold/tool requirements, laying out fabrication processes, and creating and repairing plastic injection molds, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
Requirements
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts and molds.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on injection molds including electrical and hydraulic components.
- Utilizes mills, lathes, precision grinding machines, EDM, polishing, and fitting to manufacture parts to prints.
- Smoothes flat and contoured surfaces, grinds and fits assemblies together, and into mechanisms.
- Able to setup, dress radius, angles on grinder and incorporate the features on the part, per print.
- Rebuild complete hot runner systems.
- Project manage and complete complex mold repairs efficiently, including coordinating welding, electrode mfg, and plating/texturing.
- Mentor lesser skilled Tool Makers & Apprentices
- Set-up and assemble new equipment and support manufacturing and engineering on new and existing product lines.
- Must actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
