We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Controls Engineer / Program Manager who would be responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of automation and control systems across complex engineering programs. This role combines deep technical expertise in controls engineering with strong program management capabilities to drive strategic automation initiatives from concept through commissioning.
Requirements
- Lead the design and implementation of PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotics, and motion control systems.
- Develop control system architecture, functional specifications, I/O lists, and electrical schematics.
- Program, test, and debug PLCs (e.g., Siemens), HMIs, servo systems, and field devices.
- Support integration of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA, etc.).
- Conduct system simulations, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure designs comply with electrical, safety, and industry standards (NFPA, UL, ISO, NEC).
- Provide expert troubleshooting of automation systems and mentor junior engineers.
- Serve as the technical lead and program manager for multi-phase automation projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans.
- Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and customers.
- Monitor milestones and deliverables, ensuring alignment with performance, quality, and safety requirements.
- Prepare and present project updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Manage change control, scope adjustments, and contract requirements.
- Maintain documentation, test procedures, and compliance records throughout project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Guide teams through technical decision-making and system integration challenges.
- Support customer interactions, including requirements gathering, design reviews, and issue resolution.
- Promote continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices in automation design.
