Requirements
- Michigan Teaching Certification Required
- Special Education endorsement
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday
- Ability to communicate with parents and related service staff
- Ability to develop compliant IEP's, progress reports, and other state-specific required special education documentation
- Ability to facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings
- Ability to make modifications and accommodations to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP
- Ability to ensure inclusion and success of student in the general education classroom
- Ability to collect data and work samples to monitor student progress towards Individual Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives
- Ability to analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed
- Ability to provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
- Ability to commit to personalizing learning for all students
- Ability to demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
- Ability to maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity
- Ability to make student placement and promotion decisions
- Ability to alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
- Ability to prepare students for high stakes standardized tests
- Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with families
- Ability to regularly communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Ability to support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues
