As a Senior Level Designer, you will own the design and delivery of gameplay spaces and activities within our open world for a third-person fantasy action game. You’ll be responsible for turning gameplay mechanics into engaging, readable, and enjoyable player experiences, with a strong focus on quality, clarity, and iteration.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience as a Level Designer, with shipped games or equivalent production experience.
- Strong mastery of level design fundamentals, including layout, flow, pacing, readability, and player guidance.
- Strong ability to design gameplay activities that support exploration and combat, translating gameplay mechanics into engaging and evolving situations.
- Ability to contribute to and evolve design guidelines, metrics, objectives, and constraints.
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine (preferably Unreal Engine 5).
- Comfortable prototyping and validating gameplay ideas independently, using unreal blueprints
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Unreal Blueprints) to prototype and implement dynamic gameplay events and cinematic moments are a strong asset.
- Ability to drive iteration cycles and make informed design decisions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability influence and align cross-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in both French & English, (written and spoken).
- Comfortable working in an international, distributed team across different cultures and time zones.
- Experience with 3D modeling software for blockout or iteration is a plus.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong level design work and clear design intent (playable content preferred).
- Experience mentoring or supporting other designers is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of open-world design, systemic gameplay, and player-driven experiences.
