Nurse Practitioner

Sun River Health is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner to join their team supporting the Beacon site. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for planning, evaluating, and delivering healthcare to patients on assigned service, with an emphasis on preventative health measures and patient education.

Requirements

• Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary), and does patient education and counseling.
• Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
• Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness, and referrals when appropriate.
• Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow-up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD’s.
• Attends case conferences involving patients.
• Attends continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge.
• Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
• Identifies and categorizes each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients.
• Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and overseen by Infection Control Officer.
• Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction standards.
