Job Description
The Manual Machinist operates manual machine tools to fabricate, repair, or modify metal parts and components according to precise specifications and blueprints. Responsible for setup, operation, and maintenance of manual shop equipment to ensure accuracy, quality, and safety throughout the machining processes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience operating manual machine shop equipment
- Hands-on experience with drill press, manual lathe, band saw, rigid threading machine, tape measure, calipers, and pencil grinders
- Strong understanding of metalworking processes and machining characteristics of various materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings
- Proficient in understanding and using precise measurement instruments
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship and safety
- Physically able to handle machine operation demands, including standing for extended periods, lifting, and manual handling
- Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as needed
