The Junior Mold Maker position is responsible for various duties within the department, including manufacturing components for molds, fitting and assembling molds, and finishing molding surfaces. Reporting to the Mold Maker Leader, the Junior Mold Maker ensures quality is a priority and meets deadlines and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- (0-3) years of related experience as a mold maker.
- Must be registered with Skilled Trade Ontario Apprenticeship Program (429A and 431A) or is looking for sponsorship.
- Capable of operating lather, Bridgeport and surface grinder.
- Possesses basic math skills.
- Reading and understanding a 2D detail.
- Reading a micrometer/ Vernier caliper, holding a tolerance.
- Working in both metric and standard dimensions.
- Holding safe practices using machinery.
- Willing to train above skills.
- Confident in using precision measuring and gauging tools.
- Overhead crane and forklift experience is an asset.
- Ability to perform under pressure and work independently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required.
- Ability to ensure quality standards are met.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Strong time management, teamwork, cleanliness and communication skills a must.
