As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Sydvaranger, you will play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient operation through technical assessments and follow-up of geological conditions in the mine. You will contribute to the development of methods, systems, and best practices in rock and stability control.
Requirements
- Master's degree in geotechnology, rock engineering, engineering geology or another relevant field
- Long-term relevant experience can compensate for some of the education requirement
- Comprehensive experience from similar roles, preferably from open-pit mining and production of iron ore
- Knowledge of regulations, safety legislation for mines and environmental requirements
- Very good understanding of systems and IT competence, especially with the use of digital systems
- Solid knowledge of and experience with health, environment and safety principles in mine operations
- Very good language skills; both English and a Scandinavian language; spoken and written
