Job Description
Staff Engineer (R&D Engineering) for Synopsys in Glasgow, UK. Design and implement GPU/CPU performance optimizations for large-scale TCAD simulations, develop distributed-computing solutions, and apply machine learning models to address emerging technology challenges in semiconductor simulation.
Requirements
- PhD or MS in Applied Mathematics or a closely related field
- Strong background in numerical methods, high-performance computing (HPC), and parallel programming (MPI, TBB, OpenMP)
- Proficiency in software design and programming, particularly in C++, CUDA, and Python
- Experience applying machine learning methods in an engineering or scientific-computing context
- Expertise in numerical analysis, especially with strongly coupled PDE systems
