Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora seeks a Midwife Specialist to provide culturally safe and specialist support to Māori whānau throughout their maternity journey. The role offers an opportunity to positively influence whānau wellbeing while supporting and mentoring midwives within the Waitematā district.

Requirements

• Expertise in building strong, respectful relationships with Māori whānau using whanaungatanga and manaakitanga
• Experience supporting hapūtanga wānanga and weaving wānanga
• Knowledge of public health initiatives that improve perinatal outcomes for Māori whānau
• Ability to provide professional and cultural guidance to Māori midwives / Kahu Pōkai
• Commitment to advancing the Kotahitanga equity plan and supporting Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
• Experience collaborating with community Māori health providers to enhance outcomes for Māori whānau
