As a Product Engineer I at TE Connectivity, you will contribute to cost savings through hardware tear down, material characterization, manufacturing process evaluation, competitor product benchmarking, and value engineering capabilities. You will work on various products such as Relays, Connectors, Sensors, Wire harness, contactors, and rugged fiber optic products supporting Energy, Industrial, Medical, and Aero. Defense & Marine business units.
Requirements
- Prepare sample for functional test and material characterization.
- Perform properties testing like composition, weight percentage identification, plating material and thickness identification.
- Perform properties testing like decomposition characterization, thermal transitions, physical properties, melt characteristics and viscoelasticity of polymers and elastomers.
- Perform Teardown and Benchmarking of Electrical or Electronics components.
- Perform Mechanical properties testing like Tensile, Fatigue, Creep, Hardness and Density for metals and polymers.
- Perform dimensional study using metrology tools i.e. 2D CMM & generate reverse engineering data using 3D Scanners
- Co-ordinate with PAVE Team Lead for project execution
- Provide Technical support, root cause failure analysis and problem-solving assistance on manufacturing or quality issues related to VAVE projects
