The SR MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEER implements manufacturing techniques, processes, tools, and machinery to maximize throughput, performs research on products and manufacturing processes, and shares the results with senior engineers.
Requirements
- Establish DFM, PFMEA, Mold spec, Mold Design, Molding process and Conditioning Standards and Rules, and conduct tool design.
- Manage projects to ensure timely debugging of new molds and processes to meet first article qualification target so as to facilitate new program start up.
- Provide technical advice to enhance future product design through mold engineering evaluation. Conduct evaluations for DFM (design for manufacturability).
- Conduct mold tooling design review with the Engineering, Operation and Quality engineering.
- Utilize analysis software applications and 53P to enhance molding process accuracy (5-step process, Mold-flow analysis, pressure loss, etc.).
- Approval of First Article inspections and process capability. Ensure approval through close follow-up on mold debugging, conditioning and modification.
- Drive the design and build of tools to support scientific injection molding (Balanced runners with melt flipper, cavity pressure, etc.).
- Liaise with the quality assurance division to maintain a high standard of quality product from newly developed tool.
- Maintain a proper system and documentation in line with the tooling development requirements, under DND MPDE Execution Matrix.
- Lead FACA tasks with quality, plant operation team.
- Work within a cross functional team and participate in LEAN Product Development.
- Travel to suppliers/plants in order to support development/fine-tuning and or project release.
- Collaborate with global experts to update and continuously improve operational standards with regard to plastic injection molding.
- Study or Introduce new technologies into process designs to maximize yield and efficiency.
- Champion flexible manufacturing and integrate flexible platforms into designs.
- Attend regional trade shows and continuously benchmark against industry best practices.
