Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer (DevOps) to join the GOV.UK Pay team at GDS to support the payments platform to become PCI compliant.
Requirements
- Collaborating closely with colleagues in order to meet users' needs
- Debugging a complex, multi-server service in a high availability environment
- Understanding of application deployment strategies, continuous integration and version control
- Building and configuring new server platforms and the automated tooling to do so
- Familiarity with network protocols – TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, etc
- Deploying and operating applications developed in Java, node.js in a production environment
- Using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible
- Administering PostgreSQL
- Experience of AWS (EC2 and RDS), delivering a complex web application stack
