This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks. The role involves conducting thorough inspections, troubleshooting issues, and repairing vehicles to proper operating condition. The successful candidate will have experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classes and be proficient in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakes.
Requirements
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating condition
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance services
- Troubleshoot with diagnostic software – charging systems, brakes, suspensions, A/C system
- Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
- Ability to be on task to meet shop quality and efficiency standards
- Maintain safe and organized work area
- Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards; follow company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations
- Must use all safety equipment necessary for the job
- Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
