Purchasing Agent

Technique, Inc. is looking for a Purchasing Agent to join their team at their Jackson, Michigan facility. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 2 years of purchasing-related experience with knowledge of material grades, vendor negotiation, and purchase order management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing-related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word); advanced computer skills required for Level 2
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
• Ability to prioritize work
• Problem solving skills
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise
