Quality Technician 1

Quality Technician 1 is a position at Technique's Jackson, Michigan facility. The ideal candidate brings an associate’s degree in engineering technology or a related technical field, with three to five years of hands-on quality control experience in manufacturing or engineering. Beginning knowledge of GD&T and experience in an ISO 9000 environment are highly valued.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in engineering technology or other technical field
• Three to five years of hands-on experience in quality control related to manufacturing or engineering
• Beginning knowledge and working experience utilizing GD&T
• Experience in an ISO 9000 environment
• Experience with laser inspection (PolyWorks), surface plate & height gages, profilometers, optical comparators, thread gages, pin gages, micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and angle gages
• Experience with SPC (Minitab) and calibration (GAGEpack) preferred
• Root-cause analysis skills and understanding of problem-solving tools (5-why, fishbone)
• Proven ability to read blueprints and understand component and assembly prints/part drawings
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)
• Deadline and detail-oriented with strong time management skills; ability to multi-task on various projects simultaneously
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and elevated noise levels
