Assembler, Electronics/Electro-Mech. 3

Role Overview

Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical subassemblies and units under limited supervision. Perform a wide variety of moderately difficult assembly operations, including wiring, component installation, and hand soldering. Identify and select components, make set-ups, alignments, and adjustments, and disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble, and test units as required.

What You Will Do

Follow production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions with minimum supervision. Interpret and work from electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material. Read worksheets and wiring diagrams, select components, and mount complex assembled components on chassis panels.

Requirements

• Vocational or Technical Certificate in related field
• Minimum of 5-10 years of directly related experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
