Technologist, Montreal Teleport and Remote Operations

Telesat is a leading global satellite operator providing reliable and secure satellite-delivered communications solutions worldwide. The Technologist, Montreal Teleports and remote operations, will manage and maintain Eastern Teleports infrastructure and provide level 2 support for Telesat hub and network systems.

Requirements

• Electronics/Telecommunications Technologist Diploma, or the equivalent
• Strong interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills required
• Familiarity with RF systems, especially satellite-based RF systems is an asset
• Knowledge of IP based LAN/WAN networks and routing protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, QinQ)
• Familiarity with interconnection of network devices and complex network architecture
• Familiarity with various types of telecommunications test equipment
• 2- 5 years of experience would be an asset
• Knowledge of basic scripting tools and Network Management protocols (SNMP, SYSLOG) would be an asset
• Familiarity with MS Office suite
