Test Engineering Specialist

Telesat is seeking a Test Engineering Specialist to develop and maintain system verification and validation plans for its LEO constellation communication system. The successful candidate will have 8+ years of experience in satellite communications or large scale telecom systems and a B.Sc. in Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering.

Requirements

• Develop and maintain system and sub system verification matrices for operational, autonomy, resilience, and availability requirements
• Lead system level operational test planning, execution, and reporting
• Serve as System Operations SME, supporting NMS, EMS, OSS/BSS and satellite operations teams
• Define and execute LEOP, IOT, commissioning, and service activation test scenarios from a system perspective
• Develop and maintain operational testbeds simulating outages, degraded modes, and recovery workflows
• Perform hands on testing in the LEO Lab for operational workflows, monitoring, alarms, and recovery
• Validate FCAPS, telemetry, logging, anomaly detection, and root cause investigation capabilities
• Support System Acceptance Planning for LEOP and IOT phases
