Assignment Desk Manager

Assignment Desk Manager responsible for leading the daily newsgathering operation, overseeing the assignment desk, and ensuring comprehensive coverage across broadcast and digital platforms.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of assignment desk experience in a large market
• Strong news judgement and sharp news instincts
• Ability to multitask and pivot quickly as stories evolve
• Digital-first mindset with a focus on speed and accuracy
• Knowledge of current affairs with an emphasis on local & state news
• Strong logistical ability
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as news coverage demands
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, iNews, live feeds, and social media platforms
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred
• Fluent in English and Spanish
