Performs and monitors echocardiogram (cardiac ultrasound) procedures. Calculates, measures, and documents appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by physicians.
Requirements
- Performs Echocardiograms using a departmental protocol for obtaining images.
- Assists with TEE’s and stress testing, providing images that support the physician’s ability to diagnose patients appropriately.
- Sets priorities for completion of studies based on acuity, patient preference and/or the coordination of care with nursing and other ancillary services.
- Obtains EKGs that reflect appropriate lead placement, minimal artifact, and correct patient information.
- Set’s up and scans Holter Monitors, providing tracings that support the physician’s ability to diagnose patients appropriately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
