Under general supervision, performs diagnostic radiological exams, verifies patient identity, and acquires images as per script. Interviews patient to obtain medical history and assesses risk factors.
Requirements
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training
- Analytical and clinical skills to determine age-appropriate radiograph methods
- Interpersonal and communication skills to deal with patients under physical/emotional stress
- Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
- Ability to work productively in a complex environment and handle multiple/changing priorities
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate x-ray equipment and supplies
