Requirements
- Plan and establish work schedules based on production requirements, engineering drawings, and blueprints.
- Assign tasks to welders and ensure that they have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflows to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Ensure all welding activities meet quality standards by interpreting and following welding procedures, specifications, and blueprints.
- Conduct regular inspections of welded components to check for defects and compliance with specifications.
- Enforce safety guidelines, including OSHA standards, and ensure all personnel wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Supervise the training of new welders, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment usage.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to welders to enhance skill levels and productivity.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of welders, ensuring a cooperative work environment.
- Address any conflicts or issues within the team promptly and effectively.
- Conduct performance evaluations, providing objective feedback and managing any disciplinary actions as required.
- Monitor and manage costs related to welding operations, including materials, labor, and equipment maintenance.
- Optimize the use of resources to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.
- Stay updated with welding technology, including robotic welding systems, and ensure their proper integration and operation in production.
- Coordinate with maintenance for the repair and upkeep of welding equipment.
- Maintain records of welding procedures, quality inspections, and safety training.
- Report on production status, quality issues, and safety incidents to upper management.
