The Instructional Designer I will join a team of curriculum experts developing online and face-to-face courses at the Law Enforcement & Protective Services Training Division located at the Texas A&M RELLIS Campus. The role involves executing an established curriculum development process, working with Subject Matter Experts and design team members to identify training needs, prepare learning objectives, and define and sequence course content for classroom and online learning.
Requirements
- Design, develop, and deploy curriculum for traditional classroom training delivery programs and format content and graphics using prescribed software
- Facilitate working meetings assigned to phased curriculum development efforts
- Design course materials for both the student and the instructor
- Support the creation of all course objectives
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and originality of technical documentation
- Create course activities to reinforce all learning objectives
- Create and revise course presentation slides and instructional visual aids necessary to maintain alignment with course goals and objectives
- Format and edit training manuals and/or other associated training materials
- Prepare and submit curriculum drafts of the publication for review by the development team
- Conduct focused technical reviews of all curriculum materials received for assignment for proper usage of terminology, style, direction, content, grammar, diction, punctuation, and clarity; recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content to ensure standardization
- Prepare documents for professional printing or publishing through other means as specified by the curriculum manager
- Lead curriculum design team
- Promote collaboration, partnerships, and relationships among design team
- Work with subject matter experts, instructors, and other design team members to ensure the accuracy and validity of the training design and methodology
- Ensure alignment exists between the curriculum, testing, and applicable standards
- Research and structure instructional design projects
- Establish project scope, timeline, goals and objectives
- Research available resources, permissions and curriculum
- Monitor project progress and deliver requested or required reports
