Provide peer mentoring to TAMIU CAMP students, perform duties such as meeting individually with students, maintaining records, and developing professional relationships with university staff.
Requirements
- Current TAMIU student with 60 SCH or more at the time of appointment
- Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates
- Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students
- Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP)
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students and staff
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to work effectively in teams
- Ability to speak in front of large groups
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
