Provides routine non-classroom, academic instruction to students. Meet students and go over their homework assignments, review scores, and work through problems or questions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of relevant experience
- Must not be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at TAMIU
- Experience working with college/university students in an educational setting
- Tutoring experience in content area
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and tactfully with students, faculty, and other university personnel
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to arrange and keep a work schedule
- Strong academic knowledge in content area
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to prepare and facilitate workshops, presentations, and orientations to groups of students
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
