Medical Librarian, Driscoll Children Hospital

This position manages the medical library of Driscoll Children’s Hospital, working with the hospital's Director of Medical Education and others to provide top-quality information resources and services to medical students and staff. The Medical Librarian is responsible for managing the library environment, maintaining collections, and promoting services. The role involves supervising a full-time library employee and occasional travel to the hospital's Rio Grande Valley location.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution, or international equivalent.
• Two (2) years of professional (post‐MLS) experience in a medical library or two (2) years of professional experience in an academic library to include healthcare‐related background or experience that provides comparable preparation for the role.
• Evidence of leadership, effective communication, and interpersonal & collaborative skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to service excellence.
