Job Description
The Boatswain assists with the training and preventative maintenance program on board the training ship. Performs trade work at a high-skilled level and serves as a working leader of a maintenance crew of Deck Cadets. Documents and maintains records of preventative maintenance and repairs performed.
Requirements
- High School or GED
- Five years of maritime experience aboard seafaring vessel
- State issued class “C” vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Passport, TWIC card and Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMC) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire or before the training ship sails
- USCG MMC endorsement as Able Seaman Special or greater
