Texas A&M University is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to join its High Performance Research Computing (HPRC) group. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise in computational research, support extramural funding pursuits, and respond to user queries regarding research computing resources.
Requirements
- PhD in computer science, or related physical science or engineering field that uses research computing approaches.
- Three years of professional experience (post PhD) with research computing frameworks and their applications to solve problems in one or more scientific domains.
- Excellent oral, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of programming, software development.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Fortran, C++, or CUDA, with the ability to learn others as needed.
- Familiarity with tools, applications, and techniques used in scientific computing.
- Proficient in using the LINUX/UNIX operating systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple task loads.
- Ability to work on team projects and work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to collaborate, learn continuously and be adaptable.
