Join a team that keeps our Texas transportation systems running smoothly and safely as a Transportation Maintenance Technician I or II. Maintain highways, operate light and heavy equipment, and provide support to local law enforcement officials.
Requirements
- Assist in providing support to local law enforcement officials at accident sites
- Assist stranded motorists as required
- Place and gather cones, warning signs and barricades
- Flag traffic
- Maintain highways and rights-of-way
- Perform roadway repairs
- Erect and repair guard rails, highway markers and signs
- Haul materials and equipment to job sites
- Maintain picnic and rest areas, rights-of-way, maintenance yards and comfort stations
- Operate light equipment such as a front-end loader-one and a quarter cubic yard or less
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), routine servicing and minor repairs on equipment and complete various required reports
- Perform other work as directed during emergency situations
