Transportation Maintenance Tech I/II (roadway maintenance) - Sterling City

Join a team that keeps our Texas transportation systems running smoothly and safely as a Transportation Maintenance Technician I or II. Maintain highways, operate light and heavy equipment, and provide support to local law enforcement officials.

Requirements

• Assist in providing support to local law enforcement officials at accident sites
• Assist stranded motorists as required
• Place and gather cones, warning signs and barricades
• Flag traffic
• Maintain highways and rights-of-way
• Perform roadway repairs
• Erect and repair guard rails, highway markers and signs
• Haul materials and equipment to job sites
• Maintain picnic and rest areas, rights-of-way, maintenance yards and comfort stations
• Operate light equipment such as a front-end loader-one and a quarter cubic yard or less
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), routine servicing and minor repairs on equipment and complete various required reports
• Perform other work as directed during emergency situations
