Job Description
The Medical Billing/Verifications Specialist is responsible for insurance verification, obtaining authorizations, managing claims, and providing excellent customer service. They also handle patient communication and ensure compliance with insurance policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Obtain authorizations, referrals, GAP exceptions, and Single Case Agreements
- Manage and prioritize approvals with consistent follow-up
- Provide clinical documentation to insurance companies
- Check eligibility and benefits
- Electronic claims building and submission
- Chart and coding review
- Call patients when necessary
- Read and analyze EOBs and ERAs
- Manage claims rejects and denials
