Laboratory Maintenance and Repair Technician

We are seeking a skilled candidate to serve as the lead Repair and Maintenance Technician at a full-service materials testing laboratory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic testing equipment, with some fabrication and assembly of components and systems.

Requirements

• Assembly/Fabrication: Perform light machining and fabrication of wood, metal, and plastic components.
• Mill and Lathe Operation: Ability to operate milling machines and lathes to fabricate parts.
• Light Welding: Conduct light welding tasks as needed.
• Instrumentation and Electronics: Wire and troubleshoot instrumentation and electronic components.
• Pressure Fitting: Assemble air, water, and hydraulic pressure fittings.
• Equipment Maintenance: Fabricate, repair, and maintain test equipment for outside sales, on-premise use, and inter-laboratory support.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in fabrication and assembly tasks, and maintain an organized workspace.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment and components.
• Physical Stamina: Capability to handle physical tasks such as drilling, tapping, and welding. Ability to lift 50 lb.
