The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a 3D Remote Sensing and Modeling Engineer to join their team in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will develop innovative techniques and tools for remote sensing and modeling applications, design and perform studies using deterministic and probabilistic numerical analysis techniques, and advise government and internal customers on remote sensing system performance and risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field, particularly Remote Sensing, Imaging Science, Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Computer Science, Optical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Eight years, post bachelor's degree, experience with lidar/ladar and collection and processing of 3D point clouds and digital elevation models from passive EO and synthetic aperture radar, including multi-view stereo and interferometry
- Scientific programming and version control skills, ideally C++, Python, and git
- Communication expertise, including building and delivering technical briefings and simplifying complex technical topics
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time
