Job Description
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Launch Structures Engineer to work on designing and testing launch vehicle hardware, with a focus on structural mechanics and finite element analysis. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in solid mechanics and experience in structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element analysis techniques.
Requirements
- Resolve design and test issues/anomalies/challenges via detailed structural assessment of launch vehicle hardware
- Offer technical consultation to management, customers, contractors, and government organizations
- Contribute to increased agility in the mission assurance process of assessing structural integrity and survivability
- Maintain state-of-the-art skills in activities related to design, evaluation, and testing of space structures
- Communicate with inter-organizational personnel, program offices, and customers to scope, plan, and resolve technical issues
