Cedars of Marin provides person-centered day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. The Health Services Specialist will work closely with the Health and Wellness team to support the health and medical needs of clients.
Requirements
- Maintain medical database and perform data entry
- Email health and behavior notes to staff on a weekly basis
- Prepare detailed files in advance of appointments
- Schedule appointments as required
- Transport residents to doctor and other healthcare appointments
- Respond to health concerns, injuries, illnesses, and emergencies
- Maintain cleanliness of the Health and Wellness offices and area
- Administer medication
- Triage phone calls concerning residents' medical concerns
- Communicate with pharmacies and medical offices
- Communicate with family members, staff, and healthcare professionals
- Possess experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
- Possess a strong desire to help others achieve their full potential
- Possess a medical background, skills, and terminology
- Be proficient in email and able to learn to use a database
- Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Possess a clean California driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving, and a willingness to drive a passenger van
- Pass a pre-hire screening, including background check with the FBI and DOJ, and a pre-employment physical, including TB test
- Possess CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to acquire both)
- Possess an upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor
