Surgical Technologist-OR

The Surgical Technologist-OR is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, maintaining aseptic technique, and ensuring the efficient and safe progress of the surgical case. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Checks daily assignment
• Reviews surgical preference lists
• Utilize resources to obtain needed supplies
• Checks table(s) for complete readiness
• Assists with suctioning secretions, holding retractors, and irrigating wounds
• Circulates for operative procedures under supervision of R.N.
• Assists with patient transfer to bed/stretcher
• Covers soiled gloves with clean exam gloves
• Assists with transfer with adequate number of assistants present
• Disassembles table(s) contents and instruments
• Sends instruments to CSR and/or clean up room for terminal cleaning
