The Fiber Lead will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for OSP installation projects, ensuring job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or certifications in fiber optics preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting (aerial and underground)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to travel to job sites as required
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting OSP construction drawings, splice diagrams, and work prints
- Strong understanding of industry safety standards, including OSHA and NESC requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks (climbing, lifting, confined spaces)
- Experience using OTDR, power meters, fusion splicers, and related fiber testing equipment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
