Requirements
- Utilizing measuring tools to mark and prepare the material
- Using saws, drills, and other power tools to create the necessary finished product
- Remove any rough edges created during the modification process
- Use electrical currents to create heat and bond metals
- Join beams in the construction of metal frame pieces
- Weld materials such as steel and titanium
- Use a rod and heat to join metals
- Operate welding machine that feeds wire to bond materials
- Use molten metal to join two pieces of metal
- Plan work by interpreting shop orders
- Select and set up welding equipment
- Ensure welds meet standards and specifications
- Package finished product for transport
- Interpret scope of work from documents detailing tasks to be completed
- Wear appropriate safety equipment at all times
- Assist Shop Manager as required
- Other relative duties as assigned
