As a Fire Protection Technician, you will be part of a specialized crew working on railroad property to protect infrastructure and resources from fire outbreaks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across Canada to gain hands on experience working to maintain and preserve rail infrastructure.
Requirements
- Operate remote-controlled fire suppression equipment in high-risk fire zones.
- Conduct active fire suppression using hoses, handguns, and fire suppression chemicals.
- Mix and deploy appropriate fire suppression agents, tailored to wildfire conditions.
- Actively suppress and manage fires during rail grinder operations.
- Safely work in proximity to fires, often in challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions.
- Work on steep slopes, uneven ground, and dense vegetation areas.
- Operate rail-mounted equipment for fire prevention and suppression.
- Assist in job-site preparation, debris removal, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
- Follow strict safety protocols, adhering to both company and industry standards for fire protection.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless operations in remote and hazardous conditions.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
