The Residence Manager is responsible for the effective operation of their assigned Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) home(s) or Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) unit(s) serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They supervise direct care staff, create and maintain schedules, and provide on-call and crisis support.
Requirements
- Direct supervision of home/unit DSPs
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely supervisory feedback
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, performance management and termination
- Provide ongoing training to direct support professionals
- Maintain weekly schedule and ensure appropriate program coverage
- Conduct daily review of MyAvatar (HER system)
- Escalate risks and challenges up to program leadership
- Ensure the health and safety of both the individuals we support and our staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor staff logs and shift summaries
- Ensure compliance with OPWDD, OSHA, CARF, DOH, Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements
- Perform and assist with internal audits
- Report and submit work orders for necessary repairs
- Participate in scheduled and unscheduled state audits
- Oversee timely incident reporting and internal documentation
- Develop and publish bi-weekly staff schedules
- Maintain regular communication with families and guardians
- Attend monthly managerial and IDT meetings
- Provide on-call coverage during after hours, weekends, and holidays
- Respond to emergency calls within 20 minutes and provide guidance or coverage as needed
- Cover staff shortages or absences to maintain minimum required staffing ratios
- Cover for other managers/residences as required
