Job Description
The Collections Gardener will perform general grounds and garden maintenance tasks to enhance the appearance of assigned areas. This includes planting, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, and repairing irrigation systems. The role involves maintaining irrigation systems and assists in record-keeping and communication with other departments.
Requirements
- Perform daily maintenance of assigned gardens and grounds.
- Perform routine visual inspection of assigned areas.
- Clean cement pathways and patios.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems.
- Install or repair split rail fencing.
- Assist Curator of Gardens and Garden Registrar.
- Maintain plant inventory and records.
- Analyze work orders to determine material requirements.
- Operate gardening equipment.
- Travel (conference or workshop attendance).
