The role of the Public Affairs and Policy Officer will support The Open University in Wales' engagement with politicians, policymakers, and regulators at a critical moment in the development of higher education in Wales.
Requirements
- Monitor and analyse policy developments and governance related to higher education, lifelong learning, and skills
- Prepare clear, concise briefing notes, summaries, and background papers for colleagues and senior leaders
- Assist with coordinating and drafting responses to consultations, calls for evidence, and policy reviews
- Assist with engaging with Members of the Senedd, Ministers, Councillors, officials, and sector stakeholders
- Work with colleagues across the Open University to coordinate communications, gather information, and support internal reporting processes
- Provide practical support and guidance to colleagues on Welsh political and policy processes
