Job Description
The Specimen Processing Technician is responsible for managing specimens in the clinical laboratory and microbiology, handling pre-analytical variables, and performing tasks such as releasing orders, receiving specimens, and processing specimens. The role requires troubleshooting specimen and order issues, communicating with care providers, and following regulatory and hospital standards.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- 6 months of experience in a clinical laboratory - working with biological specimens
- Ability to obtain Department of Transportation and International Air Transportation Association certification within 180 Days
