Instructional Lab Manager: Introductory Experiments in Biology BIO 206L

Supports the daily operations of a high-enrollment teaching lab course, ensures materials, equipment, and spaces are prepared for hands-on student activities, trains and coordinates teaching assistants, and contributes to the design and testing of lab activities to improve student learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field
• Biology course work, upper division science courses, or work experience in a biological laboratory setting
• Solid understanding of modern cell, molecular, and organismal biology
• Experience using equipment and advanced instrumentation in a modern biology laboratory
• Experience making solutions
• Good judgment, interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment, multi-task, and execute excellent time management skills
