Job Description
Gateway Foundation Corrections is dedicated to rebuilding the lives of incarcerated individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Peer Recovery Specialists provide support to incarcerated clients, serving as role models and assisting with recovery goals.
Requirements
- • Provide support to incarcerated clients in both custody and after release.
- • Serve as a role model with long-term stable recovery.
- • Conduct group sessions and assist clients with goals.
- • Consult with other treatment team members.
- • Provide resources for recovery and transition.
- • Travel throughout the state to provide support.
- • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- • Former participant in a substance abuse treatment program
- • Therapeutic Community experience desired
- • Certified Missouri Recovery Support Specialist-Peer (MRSS-P) as required by the Missouri Credentialing Board
- • Current driver’s license and good driving record
- • Ability to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance.
