Assistant Chief Counsel, China

Reporting into Chief Counsel, APAC, this role of Assistant Chief Counsel, oversees and supports the Disney Corporate Legal function in China. Trusted advisor to local management team and responsible for supporting all Disney Entertainment lines of business in China plus Disney Consumer Products.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in a Law Firm and in house Legal department in China with significant hands-on experience in media or related areas
• Admitted to practice law in China although US, UK and other English-speaking jurisdictions considered
• Understanding of local regulatory landscape
• Understanding of the legal and business customs and practices of a US-based multinational enterprise
• Proven leader and manager in setting direction and achieving objectives
• Keen analytical insight and strong legal capability
• Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to work under deadlines and execute efficiently against multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to evaluate and reconcile issues from the business unit and enterprise level perspective and to work in an environment with a high degree of confidentiality
• Strong team lead and able to interact well in a matrix structure, with colleagues of a diverse cultural backgrounds and work styles
• Ability to analyze problems effectively and take action to resolve issues
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential
