COURT SECURITY OFFICER - Extra Help

Court Security Officer - Extra Help positions are part-time, with less than 20 hours of work per week, providing security screening and assistance to the Thurston County Courts and facilities. This role requires sitting and standing for long periods, lifting equipment and files, and may involve danger of physical harm. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of law enforcement or corrections experience
• Graduation from a Washington State Basic or Reserve Law Enforcement Academy, Correctional Academy, or equivalent training
• Ability to obtain a Special Commission from the Thurston County Sheriff's Office
• Ability to provide own weapon, meeting Thurston County Sheriff's Office standards
• Ability to qualify in the use of a short firearm and re-qualify annually
• Pass a background investigation
• Valid Washington State Driver's License
• First Aid Card and CPR certification with Life Pak Emergency Defibrillator
