Algorithm Engineer Intern (Global Live - Strategy) - 2026 Start (PhD)

TikTok is seeking passionate and talented engineers to join their Global Live - Strategy team for a PhD Internship starting in 2026. The goal is to build and optimize a real-time, high-performance, large-scale distributed infrastructure for live streaming and improve the live streaming experience for streamers and audiences. Interns will contribute to product development, collaborate with product managers, and analyze user behavior to drive business optimization.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, engineering, or a quantitative field
• Familiar with C/C++/ Python development, familiar with Linux multi-threaded /multi-process
• Familiar with commonly used machine learning and deep learning algorithms
• Solid maths foundation, including probability statistics, numerical optimization
• Familiar with at least one of Flink, Spark, Hive etc., with big data parallel processing experience
• Must be able to commit to at least 3 months long internship period
• Commit to Internship from January to June or May to August
