Machine Learning Engineer Intern (TikTok Shop Global E-Commerce, Recommendation) - 2026 Start (PhD)

TikTok is seeking talented PhD students to join their E-commerce Recommendation team for an internship in 2026. The team focuses on developing innovative algorithms to improve user engagement and satisfaction on TikTok Shop through e-commerce live-streaming, short videos, and commodity recommendations. Interns will actively contribute to product development, research, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong programming and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in applied machine learning, familiar with algorithms such as Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, Factorization Machines, Word2vec, Logistic Regression, Gradient Boosting Trees, Deep Neural Networks, Wide and Deep.
• Experience in Deep Learning Tools such as tensorflow/pytorch.
• Experience with at least one programming language like C++/Python or equivalent.
