Backend & Infrastructure Engineer

tldraw is hiring a backend/infrastructure engineer to strengthen the systems behind their product, improve release reliability, and support their next stage of growth. This is a high ownership role in a small, fast-moving team, requiring strong judgment and pragmatism, not rigid process.

Requirements

• Fluency with TypeScript, Node.js, and systems design
• Ability to write production-quality code independently
• Strong hands-on experience building and operating production backend systems
• Experience with infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring/alerting, and incident response
• Track record improving reliability, developer experience, or release quality
• Clear communication, strong judgment in ambiguity, and comfort helping other engineers level up on backend/infrastructure
